Sweet Smelling Home
People and textiles combine to create musty odors. Here’s how to freshen up.
If you associate “clean” with the smell of bleach and other chemicals, there is another way. An orange or two, or a lemon, cut into slices (it can be old fruit so this is a great way to repurpose) and added to a pan with water and many sprigs of rosemary will help freshen up the house. Keep at a low boil for several hours, refilling the pot with water as necessary.
Other ways to eliminate musty odors include leaving bowls of white vinegar or baking soda out over night. If too many people have spent too long sitting on sofas and chairs, scatter baking soda overnight on the furniture and vacuum up in the morning.
